The United Reformed Church is seeking to appoint a new Secretary for Church and Society to work within its Mission Team to enhance the social witness of the URC by raising awareness of issues relating to peace and justice. You will also be working within the Joint Public Issues Team, which combines the expertise of the Methodist Church, the Baptist Union, the Church of Scotland and the United Reformed Church to deliver resources to enable churches to deal with issues of national and global concern.

The South Western Synod Trust is responsible for over 100 churches and their manses across the South West. The Church Development Worker is a new post and recognises the support that our churches need for working with children, families and their communities.

The post holder will be a resource to the whole Synod and will be responsive to churches supporting them in realising their mission. They will work alongside churches helping them to identify and work out a strategy to support people, of all ages and at all stages of the journey of discipleship, to grow in faith. This will include work with children and young people, but will not be exclusively with this age group.
