Youth Moderator’s Blog

The Moderator of the URC’s Youth Assembly works with the Youth Executive to help young people thrive in their faith explorations and to enable youth and children’s voices to be valued within the wider denomination. The Youth Moderator represents the URC’s young people both within the URC (for example, at General Assembly) and at events held by ecumenical partners.

The Youth Moderator for 2026-27 is Kacie Hodgson, whose home church is in Yorkshire Synod. Kacie is currently taking a degree in Theology with Youth and Community Ministry. When she’s not studying or engaging with church work and events, you’ll find her either reading or pursuing her “obsession” for exploring castles, manor houses and all things historical.

Working alongside Kacie is the Youth Moderator-Elect, Alex Clements, from East Midlands Synod. Alex completed his A levels in June, and hopes to progress to Durham University to study Maths.

On this page, Kacie and Alex share their work and visits through the year. Learn about what’s important to them – including fostering spaces where it is safe to be vulnerable, expanding horizons through ecumenical relations, and pursuing radical inclusivity and social justice.

If you would like to invite Kacie and Alex to visit you at your church meeting, please email: [email protected] to see what might be possible.
