Some exciting changes are in store for Youth Assembly 2027, says Youth Moderator Kacie Hodgson
This month has been a bit quieter on our end. With both Alex and me back at university, our schedules have certainly filled up, but we have still managed to squeeze in plenty of exciting work behind the scenes.
What I really want to highlight this month is Youth Assembly, with it’s theme of Peace Makers – Builders Builders.
A couple of weeks ago, we gathered at Abington Avenue United Reformed Church for our youth executive meeting to plan our next Youth Assembly. I want to take a moment to extend a massive thank you to everyone who attended that weekend. Your energy, wonderful ideas and dedication are what make Youth Assembly such a supportive and vibrant place to be. Every year, this event builds on the passion of the people who come together to plan it, and this meeting was no exception.
We also have a couple of new additions planned for this Youth Assembly that we did not have last year! We are looking forward to sharing those details with you, so keep an eye on our social media channels over the coming weeks and months as we post more updates.
Of course, Youth Assembly is not truly Youth Assembly without the young people who bring it to life! That brings me to the big news: booking forms for our next Youth Assembly are officially open! See How to Register, below.
If you are a young person, from Year 10 (or S3 in Scotland) up to age 25 inclusive, we would absolutely love for you to join us. Mark your calendars for 26–28 February at King’s Park in Northampton. It promises to be a fantastic weekend filled with connection, discussion and fun.
If you have never been before, do not worry if you are feeling a little nervous about coming along. Youth Assembly is a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone’s voice matters, regardless of whether it is your first time or your fifth.
If you are over 26 and reading this, we need your help as well. Please spread the word and encourage any young people you know to sign up and get involved.
We cannot wait to see what this next Assembly brings, and we hope to see many of you there!
– Kacie
