URC Prayer Handbook
The URC Prayer Handbook 2025 – Immersive Joy
The handbook is divided into two sections. The first section follows the calendar year, with a prayer for each Sunday based on one or more of the lectionary readings, and prayers for other special days. The second section is the contributors’ interpretations of the idea of being ‘immersed in joy’ in whatever way resonated with them.
“We hope that, as you read the prayers, you might reconnect with your own sense of joy, and be refreshed and strengthened.” The Revd Stephen Ansa-Addo and the Revd Sue McCoan, Editors of the 2025 URC Prayer Handbook

Prayer Handbook 2026 – Touching God
The theme for the 2026 Prayer Handbook is Touching God. Under the editorship of the Revd Dr Susan Durber and the Revd Jonnie Hill, prayers are invited which express gratitude for, or a yearning to experience, the touch of God in our lives — moments when the sacred mystery of God breaks into the everyday, filling it with awe and wonder. Prayers that celebrate the sacramental nature of all life, affirming the presence of the divine throughout the world we share. The deadline is 21 February 2025.
