Discipleship, Mission and Stewardship – The Responsibility Is Ours

How can local congregations in the United Reformed Church prayerfully consider the relationship between Christian living and Christian giving, to better serve your own local church and community?

There is a leaflet and customisable presentation available to help you, based on TRIO (The Responsibility is Ours), a financial stewardship programme with proven success in a variety of demographic settings in encouraging generosity in giving. TRIO was developed by the Diocese of Southwark and has been promoted by the URC in the past.

These explore:

  • Discipleship – recognising and responding to God’s presence in every aspect of our lives and, as church members, helping each other to do that.
  • Mission – sharing God’s vision of justice and love for all people in the world around us, including our local neighbourhood.
  • Stewardship – seeing that all we have first comes from God, and so we must use all we have in carrying out God’s Mission and disciples of Jesus.
