The Children’s and Youth Work team is happy to announce the winners of the URC Children’s birthday card competition.
Launched in April, the competition was aimed at children aged 12 and under who were asked to design a card that a church or synod could send to a child aged one-to-12.
Choosing the winners was a tricky task for the team as many bright and creative entries were submitted, but after careful deliberation a design was chosen for each age group.
Lorraine Webb, Programme Officer for Children’s and Youth Work said: “We were really impressed with all the entries and a big thank you to all those who took part, especially to our creative prizewinners: Haklie, Jacob, Tyler, Joshua, Norah, Cleo, Megan, Ahayah, Mitchel, Sydney, Zalem, and Zach all from Barrow United Reformed Church Primary School, in Clitheroe.”
The competition was run by the Children’s and Youth Work team as part of their activities to celebrate the URC’s 50th anniversary and the launch of URC Children at General Assembly on 9 July.
As Lorraine explaines: “All children associated in any way with the denomination are part of URC Children and this is one lovely way that the church can mark a child’s special day by sending a birthday card that recognises that.”
The cards should be available to purchase from the URC Bookshop in October so please keep an eye out on the URC’s social media channels for further details.
