The URC is a partner of Warm Welcome and encourages churches to consider if they could run a ‘warm welcome’ space over the colder months.
These spaces are an excellent way to show that your congregation cares about people and community, and can be a first step for many people into a positive relationship with their neighbourhood church.
For a unique chance to learn about how Warm Welcome equips spaces to support communities through winter, join the online launch of the Warm Welcome 2025-2026 campaign, taking place from 7-8pm on 21 October.
Warm Welcome spaces can suit a wide range of people. They can be a benefit to people who find heating their own homes challenging. They can offer those who feel isolated or lonely an opportunity to sit with others and maybe have a chat. And it can also attract carers and others who often work from home to have some respite, rest and social connection with the wider community.
The URC has a range of grants and funding opportunities to help congregations enable this work. Learn about the URC’s grants and funding opportunities or email Roo Stewart, Head of Public Issues, for more information.
By registering (for free) with Warm Welcome, your event details will be promoted and searchable on their map along with thousands of other spaces around the country, and you can benefit from advice and tools to help make your space a wonderful success.
