The 2024 United Reformed Church (URC) General Assembly takes place from 12-15 July at The Hayes Conference Centre in Swanwick.
The General Assembly meets annually to celebrate, discuss, worship and make decisions about the life and work of the URC. It is the Church’s highest decision-making body.
Items on the agenda include Safer Recruitment and the expectations for local churches for the various categories of lay preachers when inviting preachers to occupy their pulpit; a progress review of the URC’s Environmental Policy; Local Mission & Ministry Review; an update on the Church Life Review; a possible fund to cover the operational and project costs of our Legacies of Slavery Work; The Gaza Crisis; and the induction of the Moderator of the General Assembly 2024-2025.
