The Community Project Awards is an initiative run by the United Reformed Church (URC) in collaboration with Congregational, one of the UK's leading church insurance providers. The awards recognise innovative community projects that have a positive affect on local communities and the winning project can receive up to £2,000.

Shortlisting for the 2021 awards

Applications for the 2021 awards are now closed and shortlisting is taking place. It's hoped that the winners of both the 2021 and 2020 awards will be announced at the URC General Assembly in July. Judging of the 2020 Award was postponed due to disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

What are the Community Project Awards?

For more than a decade, the URC, supported by Congregational, has organised the Community Project Awards. The awards scheme recognises inspiring community projects that take place in local churches with a URC connection.

The scheme rewards innovative projects that meet a local demand and have a positive affect on community life.
