National Synod of Wales
The Revd Gethin Rhys, serving in Cardiff, has been honoured with one of Wales’ highest accolades: a Blue Robe from Gorsedd Cymru in Wrecsam. As a policy officer for Cytûn, Gethin has provided evidence and policy suggestions to government committees, denominations, churches, and individuals. During the pandemic, he played a key role in liaising with the Welsh Government on public health guidance for churches. He has also served on the Wales Interfaith Council, helping to promote tolerance and understanding across communities.

The Revd Dr John Morgans, a former Moderator of the National Synod of Wales, has been awarded a Green Robe. John’s ministry has made a profound impact on the ecumenical life of churches in Wales, especially in the community of Pen-rhys in the Rhondda. A passionate advocate for social justice, he was active in supporting South Wales valley communities during the miners’ strike.

These awards recognise individuals for their contributions to Welsh language and public life.
