Young Adults 18-25 years

Youth Assembly 2018

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4: 11 – 13 (NIV)

If you are between 18 and 25 you will be entering the final years of transition, developing your character, beliefs and world view and finding your place in the world as an independent adult. It may be a time of major change -- university or college for some, work for others, blossoming relationships, possibly even marriage or parenthood. It may be a time of independent living. You have a lot to give to God through the church, in your passion and verve and enthusiasm, your willingness to embrace change and challenge boundaries. The church, too, has a lot to offer you in leadership, responsibilities, and room to grow and develop your understanding of church and social issues.

This page is designed to introduce you to the workings of URC Youth and give you ideas of things you can tap into. It is a work in progress and we would love suggestions of links, resources and ideas we can add to it.

Remember to keep an eye on our events and opportunities page as we frequently advertise  opportunities for internships, volunteer roles and programmes, within the URC and beyond,  which may be of interest to this age group.

 United Reformed Church Youth

ya15 signgroup 500URC Youth is the umbrella title for all those young people and adults who are connected with the URC and fall into the 11 to 25 age bracket.

“Our mission is to discover God, help each other grow in the Christian faith and, through our lives, reflect God’s love to all.”

Each year, the URC Youth Assembly brings together a diverse group of under-25s from across Scotland, England and Wales for a weekend of business and fun combined, exploring issues and topics relevant to Church, society and life through workshops, seminars, discussions and creative activity.

Youth Assembly and Youth Exec

Youth Assembly for 2020 is being held at our usual venue of Whitemoor Lakes, Alrewas, Staffs from 24 to 26 January 2020.

Youth Assembly is organised and run by a group of young people, known as the Youth Executive. This group is made up of representatives from each of the URC's thirteen regional synods together with others elected directly by Youth Assembly. The Youth Exec carries out the work of the Assembly and advocates the needs, interests and views of children, young people and young

As a youth-led organisation, URC Youth runs its own  URC Youth Website (currently down for refurbishment!)  and the URC Youth Facebook group. Watch this space for further news. As part of Children's and Youth Work, they also have a page on this website which is listed in the menu below.

The URC Youth Assembly Moderators are elected at Youth Assembly. Natalie Gibbs and Katie Henderson are sharing the role of Youth Assembly Moderator this year, with Reuben Watts as Moderators-elect.
