Minister’s stipend

General Assembly wishes to appoint a United Reformed Church minister to serve as Mersey Synod Moderator from June 2021, or shortly after.

This is an opportunity for a new Moderator to join with the Synod to help them discern vision, mission and priorities over this new phase in their spiritual journey together; a Moderator who is able to support current church life whilst also looking to develop new ways of being church, serving communities and sharing faith.

You will be passionate about your faith, dynamic in living out the Good News, and be able to provide inspirational and pastoral leadership to ministers and churches. You will possess the gifts needed to support and encourage ministers as they work through the challenges ahead. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • the ability to continue to develop and create our vision
  • walking the way and concentrating on the spiritual life and missional discipleship of the Synod
  • pastoral gifts and a readiness to explore new ways of being Church
  • experience of collaborative team working and an ability to delegate
  • a commitment to building relationships ecumenically and with other faith groups.
