GiM Partnership

Belonging to the World Church invites us to journeys that will:

  • stretch our imagination and broaden our vision as Church
  • enable us to find new ways of being church in the UK
  • equip us to become a more intercultural church
  • offer wide-ranging opportunities to grow our ministries of embracing diversity
  • raise awareness and encourage solidarity on pressing issues in our inter-related world

This journey is one of partnership. We are part of a larger global family: Council for World Mission; World Communion of Reformed Churches; Community of Protestant Churches in Europe; Disciples Ecumenical Consultative Council; the World Council of Churches.

Belonging to the World Church also specifically sets out to support other priorities in the life of the United Reformed Church, namely:
vision2020; intercultural ministry; missional discipleship; commitment for life; children and youth work; synod global and congregational partnerships; specific ministries; education & learning etc

The global partners programme provides an opportunity for synods to enter into a bilateral exchange with a partner church outside of Europe. The primary objective of the programme is to create opportunities for mutual learning and enrichment, and to worship together and share our faith journeys and life stories. In particular exposing people in URC congregations to people and their stories from our overseas partners in ways which are meaningful to the congregation (i.e. related to their issues and concerns)

Below is a list of the synod global partner links:
