Greenbelt welcomed as new Church House residents

Greenbelt team at Church House 554x415Greenbelt were welcomed as the new top floor residents of Church House on 26 September, as they began to move in office equipment.

The United Reformed Church became an Associate Partner of the Greenbelt festival on 13 January 2016, and the move proves another mark in the successful relationship.

Greenbelt’s Operations Director, Derek Hill, said the organisation had been made to feel at home.

‘We’ve been made very welcome,’ he said. ‘We’re gradually getting unpacked and will have eight members of our team based here.’

The festival organisers used to be based minutes from the Old Bailey, in Snow Hill Court, Central London, and had begun hunting for a new space as the expiration date on their lease approached.

‘Paul (Northup, Greenbelt’s Creative Director) and I attended a meeting here at Church House,’ continued Derek. ‘We asked about space and was told, funnily enough, the URC was refurbishing Church House and letting out the top floor. We had been thinking of developing our vision for a hub and it’s all worked out perfectly.’

Jane Baird, Deputy General Secretary (Administration & Resources), said: ‘It’s absolutely fantastic to have Greenbelt join us here at Church House. We enjoy working with them and hope they will be very happy here.'
